Rafikey: A Digital Companion for Youth Health and Wellbeing

Rafikey is an innovative chatbot developed under the Digital Health Coalition of Kenya (DHCK) to connect young people with accurate, safe, and engaging health information. Equipped with chat, games, quizzes, and referral functionalities, Rafikey is designed to meet youth where they are—digitally, socially, and emotionally—by providing an inclusive space for learning, interaction, and access to services.

At its core, Rafikey transforms the way young people access Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) and general wellness support. More than just a chatbot, Rafikey is a trusted digital companion, guiding users from curiosity to action, ensuring they can find credible information and real-world services when needed.

    • Dual access: guest mode for privacy-conscious youth, and signed-in mode for more personalized journeys.

    • Embedded across partner websites, apps, schools, hospitals, and NGOs for ease of access.

    • Promoted via influencers, peer educators, banners, and blogs to meet youth in both online and offline spaces.

  3. Promotions & Activations

    • Collaborations with SRHR champions and peer educators to normalize conversations on health.

    • Campus activations, QR-code toolkits, and gamified peer-to-peer campaigns to build ownership among youth.

    • Offline activations, including demos and workshops, to showcase Rafikey in communities.
